this historic hotel, in the harbour area of aberdeen, has been undergoing a dramatic transformation. As part of this refurbishment, Surface were asked to come up with a scheme to relocate the hotel restaurant from the first floor and incorporate it into a transformed wine bar and bistro on the ground floor.

the new bar area has an earthy mix of bare granite walls and vintage wine boxes offset with rich timbers, detailed mosaics and decorative wallpapers.
