lorne hotel

Transforming an inelegant, unfashionable, dated and partially derelict 60’s hotel into a destination venue that would attract discerning travellers and the discerning west end residents. The client was also keen to show a Scottish connection through the design.

The main public area was a fractured, cavernous space with an erratic column structure. This had to be broken down into intimate yet flexible spaces with a coherent flow throughout.

A busy lobby bar is subtly separated from both restaurant and the hotel reception by sliding screens, delicate changes in materials and a deepening of the palette.
